Harrison Associates is a team of highly skilled occupational therapy consultants based in Perivale, Middlesex. They came to Pomcat because they were aware that their old site wasn’t working for them (it was many years old), and they wanted something more up to date. They were also interested in ensuring that their site met with relevant website development standards and best practices.
Harrison Associates are a perfect demonstration of how Pomcat can work with other design companies. They had already picked a design partner who was working on a re-branding of the company, including print and exhibition work. They wanted someone who could take on the maintenance of the website, but delivering a design provided by the design agency. Pomcat are very happy to take on this kind of work, and regularly partner with great designers.
Pomcat built a standards-compliant website according to the design provided. We gave advice on accessibility, and choosing of design elements that enhance the experience for everyone. We also worked with the existing hosting team to ensure a smooth transition to the new site.
Harrison now have a clean and fresh website that clearly communicates the breadth of skills that the Harrison Associates team offers.
Gill Adams, the project manager for Harrisons Associates, was kind enough to fill in a questionnaire after the project, which we include below:
1. What problem were you facing that Pomcat’s website solution solved?
We had had a moribund website for many years, which promised Equalities compliance ‘soon’ – we hadn’t had any direct control over content and no one within the company who had any knowledge of using FTP or websites.
2. How much time or money has our service saved you?
Hard to quantify – probably no money, but has spread the cost over several years and made sure that Pomcat is still available for ‘after-care’ and on going development.
3. Has our service made your life easier? How?
It’s all about trust – we decided, after some research with other organisations, that Pomcat gave both value and service. So life becomes easy at that point.5. What did you like about our service? What do you like about the experience of working with us?
Jake made it very easy – he’s always clear, doesn’t hold back on his experience/opinions and is reassuringly clear to the layman in the way he communicates.6. Were you pleasantly surprised by any part of your experience with our service?
The speed and easy with which it all happened. Most of my experiences of being involved with builds, however apparently simple, is that there’s a lot of stress and angst.7. What did you find remarkable about our service?
The financial plan – Pomcat takes a risk in terms of not asking for an upfront large figure and in remaining involved throughout the project.8. What is the most important thing people should know about our service?
You can’t really fail – there’s no big investment to make you feel tense.9. Would you recommend our service to your friends, families or co-workers? Why?
Jake talks in plain English for the layman. I’ve always managed to get through on the phone and have had a call back on the same day. Jake is very happy to pick up the phone himself, which is a novelty after working with programmers who simply won’t talk.10. Is there any aspect of our service that we could improve or do better next time?
Not really.11. Other thoughts or comments?
Just thanks a lot.
